About Dr. Sam

Dr. Sameer Atrash, known to most patients as Dr. Sam, was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. He found dentistry early, taking his first dental course in high school through Fairfax County's dental careers program and spending time in a dental office as a teenager.

He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at Virginia Commonwealth University, then his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Sam takes a preventive, conservative approach, and he makes a point of explaining how the health of your mouth connects to the health of the rest of you. His clinical interests include dental implants, restorative dentistry, Invisalign and digital dentistry.

Outside the office, he enjoys time with his dog, fishing and being outdoors with friends.

Working with Dr. Seth Hines

Dr. Sam is the associate dentist, working alongside Dr. Seth Hines, the practice's lead dentist. Whichever of them you see, the way the practice works is the same.

How the practice works

A few plain commitments hold whichever dentist you see. We explain what we found before we touch anything. We show you the image on the screen rather than describing it. You get the cost in writing. We tell you honestly what needs doing now and what could reasonably be watched. And then you decide, without anybody leaning on you.

If you are nervous, say so when you book and again when you sit down. It changes how the appointment runs: more time, each step explained before it happens, and a signal you can use to stop. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are available for anyone who would rather have them.

If you would like to see a particular dentist, mention it when you call, and whoever answers will tell you what is available.
